PLAYING GOLF WITH MY 43 YEAR OLD SON

MOST GOLFERS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY GOLF WITH THEIR KIDS ON A FREQUENT BASIS, UNFORTUNATELY MY SON LIVES A 1000 MILES AWAY. WE SEE EACH OTHER ONCE A YEAR. HE IS ONE OF THESE YOUNG GUYS THAT HITS THE GOLF BALL A MILE. HOWEVER, HE DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE WHERE THE GOLF BALL IS GOING MOST OF THE TIME.

HE COULD PROBABLY BE VERY GOOD IF HE DIDN'T HAVE SO MANY OTHER HOBBIES LIKE DEER & ELK HUNTING IN COLORADO, BIRD HUNTING IN WEST TEXAS AND THE REST OF HIS SPARE TIME IS SPENT IN HIS $50,000 BASS BOAT. TOUGH LIFE, BUT HE DOES WORK SOMETIME.

WE GOT TOGETHER FOR A ROUND A FEW DAYS AGO. HE'S PLAYING AT ABOUT 6800 YARDS AND I CAN'T SEE THAT FAR LET ALONE PLAY FROM THAT DISTANCE. HE PLAYS 3 OR 4 TIMES A YEAR AND EXPECTS TO SHOOT IN THE UPPER 70'S. I PLAY TWICE A WEEK FROM 6200 YARDS AND GET IN THE 70'S OFTEN. I DIDN'T TAKE UP GOLF UNTIL HE WAS GROWN AND MOVED AWAY. I GUESS THE POINT OF THIS WHOLE STORY IS THAT I NEVER REALIZED HOW GREAT IT CAN BE SPENDING TIME WITH YOUR ONLY SON ON A GOLF COURSE WITH SOME FRIENDLY COMPETITION AND ENJOYING EACH OTHERS COMPANY.

TILL NEXT TIME.

Two Old Coots on 50 Years of Marriage

Not a helluva lot of golf to talk about due to the fact we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 25. We actually partied all week and played golf nearly every day. Had a big party on Saturday evening. The Two Old Coots are worn out.

However we found a fantastic new golf short game program titled the "Ultimate Short Game System". The average golfer is throwing away 10-12 strokes per round with a poor short game. Do you consistently struggle with your putting distance, bought or tried several new putters, miss greens from 100 yards, this E-book is guaranteed to help you. There is a 60 day money back guarantee. For more information Click Here!

Searching for a Golf Game

I am always searching for a way to improve my golf game, as I'm sure everyone does. I have probably spent millions of dollars trying to buy a better game. Just joking, my wife won't give me that kind of allowance. However, once in a while I come across something that I feel will definitely make me a better, more consistent golfer. I thought I would pass the information along. This is really great for all you seniors and certainly worth the money, especially since it's guaranteed.

This E-Book is titled the "Senior Golfer's Guide". This book has been written for the Senior Golfer. It will guide you from A - Z on improvement tips and lessons, facts, strategies and techniques on golf. The primary focus is on helping Senior Golfers, no matter how new or experienced improve their game within their abilities.

The 'Senior Golfers Guide' is the 'real thing' for improving your game. It gives you the most appropriate information to improve your skills and broaden your knowledge. In short, the 'Senior Golfers Guide' is an investment in a better golf game. For more information Click Here!

Golf's an Exciting Game

This game of golf is the most exciting, exasperating thing I've ever been involved with. I'm probably like everyone else that plays the game, never satisfied, always experimenting with different clubs, grips, etc.
I have been playing pretty well, so to make it better, I purchased a new driver. WRONG!!!!!!! Now I have to start over with set up, swing and other things that were working so well.

The Club Match Play Championship is coming up shortly. This is a handicap event and I play to a single digit so I'm up against all the club studs. Some are very close to scratch players. Maybe I can get things working soon.

I will keep you posted, in the meantime, stay in the fairway. My favorite place!!!!!!!!!

Browsing the Golf Stores

The golfing this week went pretty well. I hit some very good shots and some that weren't so good. I am still having decision making problems. My husband managed a 78 yesterday after shooting 42 on the front nine.

Sunday and Monday the temperature and humidity were extremely high. During this type of weather conditions everyone needs to drink plenty of liquids, this helps to keep your body hydrated.

The area of North Carolina that we live in does not have any large golf stores, so when I was looking at the ads in yesterday's newspaper and saw a fabulous sale on golf equipment, we had to go to Charlotte. We went overboard buying new drivers. They were having a tremendous sale of Cobra Speed LD drivers. I purchased a 10.5 degree loft for slower swing speeds. I was hitting my Adams driver too high and losing distance. This new driver lowered my trajectory and I am hitting it longer. I, also, purchased a seven wood for those times when I needed an in-between club for better distance control and ball flight.

If you are having problems with hitting the golf ball too high and losing distance, you might try moving the ball back in your stance away from your left foot.

My Thoughts on Golf

MY WIFE AND I ARE SENIOR GOLFERS, WE USUALLY PLAY TWICE A WEEK. I AM STILL EMPLOYED FULL TIME AND SHE IS RETIRED. WE ARE MEMBERS OF A SMALL GOLF CLUB IN NORTH WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. FROM THE WHITE TEES THE COURSE PLAYS ABOUT 6100 YARDS AND I RECENTLY SHOT BELOW MY AGE WITH A 71, I WAS 72 AT THE TIME.

WITH SOME COAXING FROM FRIENDS I HIT MY FIRST GOLF BALL WHEN I WAS 54. I’VE NEVER HAD A LESSON AND MY HANDICAP IS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS. I WILL NEVER FIT IN THE POWER HITTER CLASS SO MOST OF MY SCORING IS WITH 215-220 YARD DRIVES, CENTER OF THE FAIRWAY AND FAIRLY ACCURATE IRON PLAY. I USE ADAMS IDEA 0S3 COMBO HYBRID IRONS, COBRA 12 DEGREE DRIVER AND 3 & 5 FAIRWAY WOODS. MY THREE MAJOR THOUGHTS AT ADDRESS ARE:

#1 ALIGNMENT

#2 GRIP

#3 TEMPO

I FEEL LIKE THESE ARE THREE THINGS THAT MAKE MY GOLF GAME CONSISTENT.

July 4th Holiday in Review

Saturday, July 4th, was a perfect day on the golf course. The humidity was way down and the temperature in mid 80's. The golf course was really busy, but when everyone got strung out, there was very little waiting and we played at a good pace. Most of the damage done by a recent tornado had been cleared and the golf course was in great condition.

Both my husband and I played very well. He shot 75 and I shot a 92. I could have been in the high 80's except for a couple of bad decisions that both created large numbers.

We joined another couple on Sunday, July 5th. The temperature was lower, but more humid. Neither of us played as well as we did on Saturday. We did not play on Monday due to my sore right knee.

Pretty good scores for two old coots on the golf course.

Physical Fitness and Golf

My husband is 73 years old and I am 69 years old. We play golf a minimum of twice a week and have normal aches and pains related to our age.

We have discovered an eBook titled "Mike Pedersen's Ultimate Golf Fitness Guide". This program guarantees to get you in the best physical condition possible. This fitness guide is aimed primarily at golfers of all ages. Through a series of exercises, Mike promises increased distance and stamina. This leads to better golf scores.

The "Ultimate Fitness Guide" is a comprehensive, simple and easy to follow golf fitness guide that will give you simple and easy tips and techniques to get you playing the best golf of your life!

July 4th Holiday Golf

We are looking forward to three days of golf with a couple we just met. They live on the golf course. She is just a beginner and I am having fun teaching her to hit the golf ball by changing her grip and getting her to line up correctly. When she connects the ball goes a long way.

My husband just got a new putter about two weeks ago. He is really starting to putt consistently and making lots of birdies. I was hitting the ball really well a few weeks ago. I don't know what I changed, but I have lost way too many golf balls in the last two weeks. Got to see if I can get my swing back. My husband says he spends way too much time in looking for my golf balls in the trees than in the middle of the fairway hitting his.

We have 8:00 AM tee times all three days and the weather here in western North Carolina has been really great. Days in the middle to upper 80's and low humidity.

We will let you know how we did next week. Bye for now.

Lady Golfers Are The Best

Did you know that women are more flexible than men, have more efficient swings, and are more naturally suited to the game of golf than our male counterparts? This is what I have been trying to tell my husband for years. Muscles do not make a good swing and distance alone does not make a good golfer if you can't keep the golf ball in the fairway.

It does not matter if you are an established golfer or a brand new enthusiast looking to build a strong golf foundation, the "Lady Golfers Guide" will guarantee to help you improve. There are no tricks, fluff or gimmicks, only solid information that will improve your physical and mental golf skills as well as your general knowledge about golf.

The "Lady Golfers Guide" is the most comprehensive golfing resource created exclusively for Lady Golfers! For more information Click Here!

I know you ladies are like me and would love to improve and beat your husbands occasionally.

Two Old Coots on the Golf Course

My husband and I are avid golfers and we both use a different brand of golf ball. We both use ADAMS golf clubs. We find and believe that time spent on the golf course, whether you are playing good or not, is a great way to spend time together.

Last November my husband shot 71 on a par 72 golf course. Did I mention that he was age 72 and plays golf at around a 10 handicap. I think this was fantastic, especially since he never picked up a golf club before the age of 54. Golf can be played by everyone of all ages and genders.

We play golf every Sunday and Monday at a nearby private golf club in western North Carolina. Golf clubs, golf balls, golf tees, etc. can be purchased at the golf pro shop.
