I'
ve mentioned in previous blogs some things I've tried to make myself a better golfer. You read and hear TV announcers talk at length about how the most successful pro's are constantly working on swing changes. They all have coaches for virtually every part of the golf game both physical and mental. They are so well trained and so good, that one or two shots over a four day tournament usually means winning or losing.
I'm a pretty good weekend golfer and constantly tinker with about everything related to my golf game. Currently, I'm having a custom made graphite shaft designed for my slow swing speed. The professional club maker is adding one half inch and says my distance should improve if I can control the added length which I feel comfortable with.
The "M" Speed Cobra that I use is the easiest driver I've ever hit and the small amount of offset helps create a nice soft draw for a little more yardage. My wife even uses one and hits it very well.
Will stay in touch and let you know how the experiment goes.

The Old Coot
How many golfers regardless of age and abilities would like to be in my position when it comes to hitting the golf ball straight down the fairway? It does not matter whether I'm using a driver, irons or fairway woods the ball is in the fairway. I've been playing golf for about 18 years without lessons or professional instruction of any kind. I was a good baseball player and scratch bowler at an earlier age and attribute my personal golfing success to swing tempo and timing.
How would you like to add amazing distance and reduce your handicap several strokes? By using the only instruction system to help almost any golfer break 80, you can (1) hit the golf ball further and straighter then ever (2) get more distance and accuracy than before (3) hit more greens and closer to the pin (4) wonder what happened to that nasty slice (5) have a new outlook and more confidence in your golf game.

MOST GOLFERS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY GOLF WITH THEIR KIDS ON A FREQUENT BASIS, UNFORTUNATELY MY SON LIVES A 1000 MILES AWAY. WE SEE EACH OTHER ONCE A YEAR. HE IS ONE OF THESE YOUNG GUYS THAT HITS THE GOLF BALL A MILE. HOWEVER, HE DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE WHERE THE GOLF BALL IS GOING MOST OF THE TIME.
HE COULD PROBABLY BE VERY GOOD IF HE DIDN'T HAVE SO MANY OTHER HOBBIES LIKE DEER & ELK HUNTING IN COLORADO, BIRD HUNTING IN WEST TEXAS AND THE REST OF HIS SPARE TIME IS SPENT IN HIS $50,000 BASS BOAT. TOUGH LIFE, BUT HE DOES WORK SOMETIME.
WE GOT TOGETHER FOR A ROUND A FEW DAYS AGO. HE'S PLAYING AT ABOUT 6800 YARDS AND I CAN'T SEE THAT FAR LET ALONE PLAY FROM THAT DISTANCE. HE PLAYS 3 OR 4 TIMES A YEAR AND EXPECTS TO SHOOT IN THE UPPER 70'S. I PLAY TWICE A WEEK FROM 6200 YARDS AND GET IN THE 70'S OFTEN. I DIDN'T TAKE UP GOLF UNTIL HE WAS GROWN AND MOVED AWAY. I GUESS THE POINT OF THIS WHOLE STORY IS THAT I NEVER REALIZED HOW GREAT IT CAN BE SPENDING TIME WITH YOUR ONLY SON ON A GOLF COURSE WITH SOME FRIENDLY COMPETITION AND ENJOYING EACH OTHERS COMPANY.
TILL NEXT TIME.

THE OLD COOT
Not a helluva lot of golf to talk about due to the fact we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 25. We actually partied all week and played golf nearly every day. Had a big party on Saturday evening. The Two Old Coots are worn out.
However we found a fantastic new golf short game program titled the "Ultimate Short Game System". The average golfer is throwing away 10-12 strokes per round with a poor short game. Do you consistently struggle with your putting distance, bought or tried several new putters, miss greens from 100 yards, this E-book is guaranteed to help you. There is a 60 day money back guarantee. For more information Click Here!
I am always searching for a way to improve my golf game, as I'm sure everyone does. I have probably spent millions of dollars trying to buy a better game. Just joking, my wife won't give me that kind of allowance. However, once in a while I come across something that I feel will definitely make me a better, more consistent golfer. I thought I would pass the information along. This is really great for all you seniors and certainly worth the money, especially since it's guaranteed.
This E-Book is titled the "Senior Golfer's Guide". This book has been written for the Senior Golfer. This game of golf is the most exciting, exasperating thing
I've ever been involved with. I'm probably like everyone else that plays the game, never satisfied, always experimenting with different clubs, grips, etc.I have been playing pretty well, so to make it better, I purchased a new driver. WRONG!!!!!!! Now I have to start over with set up, swing and other things that were working so well.
The Club Match Play Championship is coming up shortly. This is a handicap event and I play to a single digit so I'm up against all the club studs. Some are very close to scratch players. Maybe I can get things working soon.
I will keep you posted, in the meantime, stay in the fairway. My favorite place!!!!!!!!!
The golfing this week went pretty well. I hit some very good shots and some that weren't so good. I am still having decision making problems. My husband managed a 78 yesterday after shooting 42 on the front nine.
Sunday and Monday the temperature and humidity were extremely high. During this type of weather conditions everyone needs to drink plenty of liquids, this helps to keep your body hydrated.
The area of North Carolina that we live in does not have any large golf stores, so when I was looking at the ads in yesterday's newspaper and saw a fabulous sale on golf equipment, we had to go to Charlotte. We went overboard buying new drivers. They were having a tremendous sale of Cobra Speed LD drivers. I purchased a 10.5 degree loft for slower swing speeds. I was hitting my Adams driver too high and losing distance. This new driver lowered my trajectory and I am hitting it longer. I, also, purchased a seven wood for those times when I needed an in-between club for better distance control and ball flight.
If you are having problems with hitting the golf ball too high and losing distance, you might try moving the ball back in your stance away from your left foot.
